Dart about open-air theatre
School Holiday treat
‘Winnie the Pooh Kids’ at the National Children’s Theatre until 10 Apr.
With the aim of enticing children to explore the literary world, the National Children’s Theatre in Parktown transforms well-known tales into performances on the stage.
This is a delightful opportunity to introduce children to characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Christopher Robin and more.
In addition it’s a ‘safe’, open-air environment when the children can be accompanied by the entire family, grandparents included; picnic in the amphitheatre and meet the characters face-to-face.
Children’s theatre is the ultimate version of edutainment, especially when it comes to enticing their audience members to read! Once a character has been introduced, the spark is ignited to find the books and continue with the adventures.
In the quest to improve literacy among Foundation-level scholars, it’s an absolute winner! Visits to schools can also be organised. For further information contact https://nctheatresa.org/ PS: The theatre’s productions focus on all Grades including Matric setworks.
