MOVIES OPENING THIS WEEKEND

‘Free Guy’ starring Ryan Reynolds focuses on a bank teller who discovers that he can rewrite his story when he discovers that he is a player in an open-world video game. Fun trip to the cinema!

‘Paw Patrol’ – This animated action adventure is all about saving the city from a mayor who is wreaking havoc. A little boy named Ryder decides to step into the breach together with his Pup Patrol rescue team. Puppies, children and adventure – what more could be requested?

 

‘Reminiscence’ – Travel into the past with Hugh Jackman as he follows recorded memories to unravel crimes. Definite Must See!

FRIDAY 20 AUGUST

JAZZ

Kamo Matsoso will be performing live at The Jazz Room, Doppio Zero Rosebank (The Firs). Although the Live Show tickets are sold out, there are still tickets available for virtual viewing – so pop along to Doppio, enjoy a meal and watch the show on your phones!

Next Friday Hlulani Hlangwane takes to the stage. If you would like to attend the live performance it is advised that you book now.

SUNDAY 22 AUGUST

CHILDREN’S THEATRE

‘Peter Rabbit and Me’  opens at the National Children’s Theatre in Parktown, this Sunday and runs until 26 September.

Presented outdoors in the Imagination Theatre, children of all ages (and their parents) are sure to enjoy Beatrix Potter’s delightful characters.

Bring along your picnic basket, blanket, sun hat etc. Tickets available through Quicket.

 

 

 

 

‘The Forest’  opens at The Roodepoort Theatre. This collaboration between Ukranian and South African dancers is aimed at children between the ages of 5 – 10 years. The performance takes the children into the world of mythical creatures and their interaction with nature.
