Spring is the most magnificent time of year! The Jacarandas are in bloom with purple flowers arching over the roads creating carpets as they fall to the ground.
This Saturday (22 October 2022), Johannesburg in Your Pocket will be collaborating with Ryan Enslin of @mylimeboots to provide a Jacaranda-spotting photo walk around Rosebank. Make the most of the balmy Spring air by popping down to the Wanderers Cricket Club this weekend. Pick n Pay is hosting its two-day Wine & Food Festival this weekend (Sat 22 and Sun 23 October 2022) showcasing over 40 award-winning wine producers.

Jazzing it up
There could be no better introduction to the weekend than Khaya Mahlangu and his saxophone. He will be hosted by the Jazz Room at Doppio Zero, Rosebank (Firs Shopping Mall). Listening to jazz, sipping a cocktail and watching the magnificent sunset in the balmy Spring air is an unbeatable experience.

No visit to Johannesburg is complete without a visit to the iconic Mandela Square in Sandton… and yet another venue which makes the most of the seasons is the Auto and General Theatre on The Square. Currently showing is “The Beauty Queen of Leenane”. Written by Irish playwright – Martin McDonagh, this psychological thriller delves into the lives of a mother and daughter who lives are disrupted by the arrival of two brothers.
