The 947 Cycle Challenge and Voter Registration both take place this weekend (18-19 November 2023).
Please note: You will only be able to vote at the station at which you are registered.
Voting stations will be open from 8am to 5pm on both days.
Rosebank and its surrounds
Due to road closures for the 947 Cycle Challenge, it may be difficult to cross Jan Smuts. For registration or checking one’s voting status you can visit any voting station or go online.
Rosebank voting station is situated at Rosebank Primary School, Jellico Street.
Residents of Parktown North and Parkwood (West) need to visit the voting station at Parkhurst Primary School, 15th Street.
Road Closure for 947 Cycle Challenge
Jan Smuts Ave will be completely closed from 6:30am to 5pm on Sunday 19 November. Only two ways to cross the road in your vehicle, namely, Smit Street in Braamfontein (South) and N1 Fourways (North). As a pedestrian, there are no restrictions.
Advice from Cllr Trulluck is to plan your day around the closure. Park your vehicle and walk across the road to reach the Rosebank Voting Station. More info on the Challenge plus the route.
Alternate solution
Take the hassle of crossing Jan Smuts completely out of the equation. Treat yourself to a night at The Jack Rose (JR).
Situated at 10 Tyrwhitt Ave, the hotel is in the heart of Rosebank and within walking distance of the Rosebank Voting Station.
This is an opportunity to treat yourself to a stunning night out. The Rosebank Mall and The Zone are approximately two blocks away from the JR, so movies could be a definite choice. There are many restaurants to choose from as well as night clubs. On Sunday morning, after a freshly prepared buffet breakfast for two (at no additional charge) pop along to the Rosebank Sunday Market… and that is a treat in itself.
Secure parking is provided on the property.
